Children still say the darndest things

I had an epic conversation with a 10-year-old boy today. An excerpt of our dialogue went like this:

Me: Do you like school?
Boy: No.
Me: But surely there must be something you like about school.
Boy: (Without hesitation) Yes, of course.
Me: And what is that?
Boy: Recess.

It was an 'LOL' moment for me - one which I had to try hard to stifle because his parents were looking on. Everyone I told this story to couldn't help but burst out laughing as well. So endearingly honest. Looks like children still say the darndest things.

And if you think about it, it's so true. Who doesn't enjoy the little breaks in life? Sometimes, all it takes is a kid's friendly and unintentional reminder.
