Stop Coddling the Super-Rich

finerminds.com

Many of you have probably already read the op-ed piece by Warren Buffett in The New York Times. I was drawn in for a read by the headline - after all, it's hard to reconcile one of the richest men in the world with an article calling to increase taxes for the rich.

In a nutshell, Buffett revealed the secret to how the rich get richer and the poor get poorer across all countries. He makes no excuses for his wealth. In fact, he readily admits to being "mega-rich". The concluding statement in his article is a damning one - "My friends and I have been coddled long enough by a billionaire-friendly Congress. It's time for our government to get serious about shared sacrifice" - and no doubt would have had the U.S. Congress drawing heavy flak.

Altruistic or not, how can one help but be impressed by a man like that?
